Tell-Me-A-Story Test
The Tell-Me-A-Story (TEMAS) Test is a projective psychological assessment tool designed primarily for children and adolescents. It presents a series of culturally relevant picture cards depicting social and emotional situations. The subject is asked to create a story based on each image, revealing underlying emotions, conflicts, motivations, and interpersonal dynamics. TEMAS is often used to assess personality, emotional functioning, and social cognition. It is considered more culturally sensitive than older projective tests like the TAT, especially for minority populations. The test promotes expression and helps clinicians understand a child’s inner world, aiding in diagnosis and therapeutic planning.
