Five stages of dying by Kubler-Ross

  1. Denial – The individual refuses to accept the reality of death, believing it must be a mistake.

  2. Anger – Feelings of frustration and helplessness emerge, often directed at others or the situation.

  3. Bargaining – The person attempts to make deals with a higher power to delay or avoid death.

  4. Depression – A deep sadness sets in as the reality of dying becomes clear.

  5. Acceptance – The individual comes to terms with their mortality and may feel at peace.
